I find it funny how the most popular question I get as a pastor is: “Is it a sin if…?” My answer is simple: “Why do you ask? Especially when we believe, teach, and confess that Jesus has atoned for ALL SIN!
Now, given our Gospel lesson, Mark 3:20-35, it seems that there is this one thing that cannot be forgiven and this haunts people too. But the ancient historical church, including our Lutheran Fathers agree that if one is in fear that he/she has blasphemed the Holy Spirit, then it is clear that they have not.
