Ascension Lutheran Church Grocery Assistance Program
(This Ministry is suspended until further notice due to Covid-19)
Ascension Lutheran provides grocery assistance to the community on a weekly basis. We strive to help those in our community who are struggling to feed themselves or their family. More and more families are finding their way to Ascension in need of basic goods and food.
Items are bagged as follows:
- Cereal (1)
- Canned Veggies (3)
- Canned Soup (3)
- Canned Fruit (3)
- Rice (1)
- Pasta/Pasta Sauce (1 each)
- Juice Boxes (3)
- Peanut Butter (1)
- Jelly (1)
- Crackers
- Meat/Fish (1 or more of each)
- Treat (if available)
Personal hygiene items are also available if needed. In addition to gift cards or monetary donations, other donations to the program can include:
- Breakfast items like family size cereal and individual oatmeal packets (remember, eating breakfast is essential for overall health. Breakfast items are needed for every bag we prepare)
- Non-refrigerated boxed milk, juice boxes
- Peanut Butter – creamy
- Jelly
- Individual apple sauce and other canned fruit
- Macaroni & Cheese (individual & family sizes), rice, pasta, sauces and broth (please avoid glass bottles)
- Meats: canned or packaged (tuna, chicken, beef, spam, turkey, stew…)
- CRACKERS: plain and flavored
- Canned goods (veggies, beans, soup)
- Personal essentials – hand sanitizer, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner or combination of both, body wash, tooth paste, razors, shaving cream
If you prefer, and for your convenience, you may also wish to donate a case of one item, which helps stock the shelves of the pantry for this ministry. Thank you for your generous donations!
