At first glance, this title might seem laughable!  Maybe your mind goes back to the crazy drama that has surrounded your own relationships. Or you might conjure images of the dozens of magazines at the check-out line at the grocery store full of the complicated stories of love in this world!
True enough, but that’s the love that the world gives.  It’s not God’s love.  God’s love is not jealous, or envious; it doesn’t boast; it does not seek its own way.
Paul tells the Christians in Corinth that just because they have “knowledge,” or freedom from the law due to their relationship with Christ Jesus, that they cannot defend their eating of meat which had been offered to idols.  For when they do what other Christians assume is evil, even though they assume wrongly, they offend the consciences of those people.  Paul suggests that although all things are holy to eat, that we should go without eating meat at all if it should offend a brother.
When we seek our own way in relationships with others, we complicate our lives and theirs.  Love as He loves and live uncomplicated.
