Friday, March 29th! Come dressed to run/pedal in your camouflage! Warrior Run funds will be used to SUPPORT school wide programs. This is a full school day!

Ascension’s Annual Passover Seder

Experience Passover as Jesus would have with His first disciples at the ninth-annual Ascension Lutheran Passover Seder Meal on April 16th at 6 p.m. A traditional Passover Seder ceremony is celebrated together, similar to how people of the Jewish faith have done for thousands of years. Participants will gain meaningful insights as the meal progresses, seeing how these ancient traditions, throughout history, have always pointed to Christ.

14TH ANNUAL GOD BLESS AMERICA PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND SILENT AUCTION

Ascension Lutheran Church’s Annual Pancake Breakfast is this Saturday. Plan to invite your family and friends to one of the largest events held each year here at Ascension. This is an opportunity to welcome the community to our campus and to reach out in love and make connections with people who may not have a church home. Tours of the school will be given. There will be a 50-50 auction happening at the pancake breakfast where 50% goes to the winner and 50% goes to the school!
No tickets were handed out this year. Tickets can be purchased from the church office or at the pancake breakfast on Saturday. Tickets are $5.00 each or four for $20.00. Please come and support our church and school.

Ascension’s Annual Pancake Breakfast

Let’s Have Breakfast Together! Ascension’s Annual Pancake Breakfast!

Combines Breakfast Favorites with Christian Fellowship

 

It’s not easy to resist the taste of a hot, delicious pancake breakfast, served in the open air and hot off the grill and when you are surrounded by your Ascension family, friends and neighbors, it’s an experience that’s hard to beat.

 

The 14th annual Ascension Lutheran Pancake Breakfast takes place Saturday, March 16th. Breakfast starts at 7:30 a.m. and continues through 11 a.m. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee are on the menu. During the event, a silent auction will be taking place in the Parish Hall, where attendees will be encouraged to bid on a wide range of items, including gift baskets, toys, tickets to sporting and entertainment events and items donated by local businesses. A raffle and 50/50 drawing will also be taking place. The profits received from these activities, including the breakfast, will support the ministries of Ascension Lutheran Church and School and its outreach to the community.

 

Tickets are on sale now for $5 each or five tickets for $20 before and after Sunday services, at the church office or at the door. The Ascension family is encouraged to help get the word out about the event and to invite their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to come.

Yankee Candle and Sees Candy packets went home last week. These fundraisers are voluntary. The funds earned go to pay for the inflatable apparatus for the end of school year picnic. Yankee Candle orders are due this Friday, February 15th, and Sees Candy orders are due by March 22nd.

Women’s Club of Torrance Student Art Contest

 
Are you a good artist? Do you like to paint or draw? The Women’s Club of Torrance is hosting their annual art contest for students Kindergarten through 8th grade. If you are interested in submitting a piece to the art competition, here is what you do.
1. Make your creation:
1) must be 24”x30” or smaller
2) may not contain glass
3) must be original
4) must be created in 2018-2019 5) submission must include an entry form label affixed to the back and a signed waiver 6) One entry per person
 
2. Pick up an entry form from the school office and have your parents complete and sign it.
 
3. Bring your artwork along with the completed, signed entry form to Mrs. Hopkins or the school office by Friday, March 1st . Top place finishers in the Torrance district will advance to a state competition level automatically. There are also prizes that will be awarded to top place finishers.
